Content, was always my favourite color

this is like a fuckin cookin show.

first up heat up the pan. then put in the most serene republic's debut album, underwater cinematographer.

next, sweat a little wolf parade's apologies to the queen mary together with the cinematographer who, for some whatever logical n splendid reasons, is still under water. bubbling.

then, throw in some superb drummin n trippy sound from the life and times' suburban hymns, just to spice up things a little....

don't forget to sprinkle a wee bit of the smiths' bigmouth strikes again from the 20 year old the queen is dead. just a weeeeeee bit not too much. too much morrissey can make u dance like a mad man.

oh yeahz... add in a slice of sleater-kinney's the woods. totally indie totally rock...

last but not certainly least, some angular sonics from bloc party,

my fav band this year.

this is a new component, never try before..... so eat it at your own risk. v)

Haseena - Smart, Sexy, Dangerous - A fragile affair

‘Khallas’ girl Isha Kopikar gets on with her next film ‘Haseena’. After doing some quality roles in film like ‘Krishna Cottage’, ‘D’ and ‘Kyaa Kool Hain Hum’ in the past few years, it comes as a pretty surprise when one sees her in a flick called ‘Haseena - Smart, Sexy, Dangerous’ which is in no way going to credit her career in films. The rest of the cast includes Preeti Jhangiani, Kiran Jhanjani and Raj Babbar. The film is produced by Sanjay Thakur and is directed by Vicky Ranawat. The composing and lyrics are by Rajan Bawa. Can’t ascertain anything to look forward to, but one doesn’t mind taking a look into what lies inside the sound track.

Wild and wacky number ‘Choom Choom’ starts the album in the vibrant voice of Sowmya Raoh. The track is lively and pulsating, loaded with western orchestra that promises never to let the energy drop. The track can very easily find its entry into the dance floors if you don’t bother much with the lyrics. One doesn’t mind it and it is thoroughly enjoyable.

A love song offering little than the hackneyed stuff is ‘Khuda Jaanta Hai’. Sung by Udit Narayan and Alka Yagnik, the song is run of the mill type. Though the song is ripe with melody, it doesn’t offer anything new. It thus takes a backseat due to the lack of fresh ingredients in it. It’s sad to see topnotch singers being wasted for such a mediocre song.

Getting on to pace once again is Sowmya Raoh with ‘Hulchul Si Hai’. Passion and seduction are the catchword of the track. Familiarize yourself with the common words and igniting stuff that you come across in all such numbers. However the song turns out to be less too tempting.

A sparkly number ‘Sajan Mera Mehendi Laaya’ comes up on the traditional line of music. Alka Yagnik gives her best shot to raise the number above average, which again fails due to the lack of something fresh and vitalizing. Sapna Awasthi who is a must for such tracks also does a good job and makes the number hearable.

‘Haseena’ is a downer in all regards. The album doesn’t boast of one single good track leave aside any chartbusting ones. They’re pretty mediocre and one can just consider them as a passé.
