Allen James

When things go wrong as they sometimes will,
When the road you're trudging seems all uphill.
When the funds are low and the debts are high,
And you want to smile but you have to sigh.
When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

Life is queer with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns.
And many a fellow turns about,
When he might have won had he stuck it out.
Don't give up though the pace seems slow,
You may succeed with another blow.

Often the goal is nearer than
It seems to a faint and faltering man.
Often the struggler has given up,
When he might have captured the victor's cup.
And he learned too late when the night came down,
How close he was to the golden crown.

Success is failure turned inside out,
The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.
And you never can tell how close you are,
It may be near when it seems afar.
So stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,
It's when things seem worst that you mustn't quit

stuff i wish for, dreams that i dream

this is something that i came across a long time ago and it always never fail to make me smile and hope and dream of things that i really want.
it's strange that in this world that we live in, when we ask people for this that they wish for, it's always either money, material things or for career.

these are the things that i really wish for and dream of...

melted Absolut in a vodka bottle
a popsicle of frozen time
a 3-D picture of thunder
a coffee-mug of crushed diamonds
a Trojan Horse full of M&Ms,
lost illusions in a glass bottle
a fire-breathing wooden dragon
a happy clown
a crystal angel on a motorbike
a sun that never rises
an empty Pandora's Box
a fire that burns underwater
a first kiss in a summer rain
super-glue for a broken heart
a spaceship full of squids
footsteps in the sands of time
a graceful swan of never
a love song for a vampire
an H-bomb to detonate in my skull
wild horses to ride over the hills
a star to hold in my palm
a rear-view mirror to see Hell with
a time capsule from the island of Atlantis
a never-ending story
a silver platter of mice and angry grapes
clean underwear
a banana from the monkey on my back
a second-hand shop that sells dreams and memories
a figurine of Buddha jumping over a wall
a bed of 99 black roses
a molatov cocktail on the rocks
a tattoo of Death doing the Macarena
a near-life experience
a reason not to kill myself
a dream that never ends
a love that never dies
an emerald green parachute
five bouquets of tiger lillies and one organic broccoli
a donkey clown pinata full of crickets
a protective gargoyle lifted from the Chartes Cathedral
a strawberry chocolate cake baked in the shape of a question mark
a DNA map drawn up by the Human Genome Project
fistsfuls of sparklers
a refrigerator magnet cast in the likeness of the Dalai Lama
a digitally remastered CD of the Big Bang
the key of life accidentally placed inside a Crackerjack Box
band-aids that heal everything
knowledge in the form of chocolate
glittering pristine snow on a rusted can
a giant turtle with a world on it's back
an hourglass to jam in the spokes of the wheel of time
a galaxy in an empty milk carton
ten summoners walking in a field of gold
a backpack that leads to the warehouse of an orange merchant
a rubber ducky on a sea of nails
a diamond moon, containing light from the stars
eternity in an hour (crowfire)
a diving board into the gene pool
a daisy chain that never withers
a solar-powered torchlight
a rewind and pause button on life
a day as a cat
a lifetime supply of oreos and milk
an 'Undo' button for real life actions
a heart that streches, but does not break
an ever-lasting bottle of glowing glacial water
a handful of shooting stars
the other side of the sky
dance on the moon

Moth Gets In My Eye

in a bright blue sunset city,
there is nothing but pity.
for all the truth be told,
i will always dwell in this dark hole.
for fate and faith alike,
both are out of mind and sight.
someone said that all would be fine,
but in the end left me in due time.
like a moth that flew into my eye,
but it was not destined to die.
for i have taken this beating far too long,
a way of life which is just so wrong.
hopeless prayers that were never answered,
growth and progress just as well stunted.
all the bitterness that taste so sweet,
you can smell it from afar just like weed.
if you hate this pointless bantering,
then carry on your foolish slandering.
so tell me sweet july would be better,
rubbish and bollocks helter-skelter,
i believe that is so much i would say,
cursed i guess my every single day.
like i never said too much,
all i know is life is such.

Nonsense Child, the guest.

Guest Writer: Nonsense Child.

There comes a time where one realises the stupidity of fellow friends.
There will always be that one. That ONE.
Who'd slam your head into fishballs and go 'YEAY!'.
That one friend would never stop at it,
cos he'll have a giant stash of many balls from the fridge.
Thereafter, sitting by your side to hum the bass of weird songs.
AND, try to vacuum you with mini-suckers found next to some loser keyboard.

yes, it is friends like these...
that would make your headache stay!
don't you love it?

joga bonito!

last night saw the most exciting match so far at the world cup in germany. its the aussies' second try at the finals with the first 32 years ago in 1974 and coincidentally was at germany too. their record stood at 0 win, 1 draw and 5 losses with 0 goals scored n 5 conceded! the japs are playing their third consecutive finals after making their debut at france'98. the last time round, being the co-host, they missed out on the quarters with a narrow 1 nil loss to turkey.

so it was the big tough aussies versus the swift n nifty japs. while the rest of the people there at the big courtyard were supporting the japs with shouts of "nippon!nippon!" occasionally heard, the handful of us were rooting for the aussies with ken sitting on the fence(risking his balls) coz he is half aussie n half jap.

the pace was frantic considering that they are playing in the 3pm afternoon heat. the aussies were playing with viduka up front alone with kewell n emerton supporting from midfield. the japs were doing their tried n tested counter attacking game. so that gave the aussies alot of the early proceedings, but luck was not on their side plus the jap keeper kawaguchi was holding the fort well making a few good saves. viduka was obviously well handled by the jap centre backs. so all the aussie direct balls were not making any in-road.

then against the run of play, the japs scored. a long high ball was crossed in from the right by the jap celtic midfielder nakamura. the aussie keeper, schwarzer came out for the ball but could be impeded by a jap player which the ref judged not. so schwarzer missed the high ball and it went straight in to the net for a goal.

the japs, good as they were with their counter attacking game, were let down by a non existence strike force. the aussies, on the other hand, were having one of those days when lady luck just wouldnt smile on them.

then came the master stroke from the wily dutch head coach of the aussie team, gus hiddink. mid way through the second half, he brought on the everton attacking midfielder tim cahil who was surprising left on the bench in the first place. and subsequently kennedy a tall forward and alosi another attacking midfielder joined in the fray. they had been instructed to push forward as much as possible to support the lonesome viduka.

the moves proved fruitful. with about 10mins left on the clock, the aussies equalised! a long throw from the left touch line, the jap keeper who had been quite steady so far, came flying out to grab the ball but completely missed it. the ball eventually fell to cahil who rammed it into the open goal. finally the aussies got their first ever goal at the world cup.

so i thought the game was gonna be a draw coz that was like a fair result then. but cahil thought otherwise. with the japs quite tired but then, they were barely able to handle the direct balls from the aussies especially after the introduction of cahil, kennedy and alosi. during one of those direct forays, the ball fell nicely to cahil about 25 yards out. he whacked the ball towards goal and the ball went in via the post despite the desperate dive of the jap keeper. suddenly the aussies were in the lead.

how fortune can change so suddenly? the japs were 10mins away from a win but they just fell to pieces under the determined probbing of the aussies plus of coz the brilliant tactical switches of their coach, hiddink. to make matter worse, alosi, the third sub scored another aussie goal in injury time with a strong run into the penalty area, brushing off a jap defender and side footed the ball home.

looks like the japs are not gonna make any headway in this world cup. not with their next 2 opponents croatia and brazil. the aussies meanwhile needs to overcome croatia. as for brazil, they are from another planet la.

ok its time to watch the brazilians do the samba dance! joga bonito!

ode to mr pink

jukebox : the dears lost in the plot

restless heart casts me walking
to the familiar spirit haunt
i know you're just across wanting
you my familiar trippy gaunt

am i becoming like you
am i manic like you
am i as mad as you
am i funny like you

restless heart cast me running
through these familiar streets
i know you're at window gazing
you my familiar soulbrother beat

am i joining you
am i going to combust like you
am i missing you
or am i just losing my plot

----------------------------------------------
sing this song loud n clear so he can hear
and he will feel our love
and he will smile so bright
that we will see his light

see you soon my sweet brother

The dears - Lost in the Plot

Take me for drive to the coastline
Pull me to the depths of the sea
Leave me in the middle of the ocean
I can walk the rest of the way

And I promise not to cry anymore
All the reasons beat the crap out of me

Everyday when I wake up they are waiting
But I promise not to cry anymore
'Cos it's the same old plot these things
Oh it's the same old plot these things
Oh it's the same old plot these things
Oh it's the same old...

Our love, don't mess with our love
Our love is so much stronger
Our love, don't mess with our love
Our love is so much stronger

Oh it's the same old plot these things
Oh it's the same old plot these things
Oh it's the same old plot
Same old plot
Same old plot these things

Oh I promise not to cry
Oh I promise not to cry
Oh I promise not to cry
Anymore
